The GKI Trail Run
The GKI Trail Run on 7 June 2026 is one of Queensland’s most picturesque trail runs/hikes, on the Southern Great Barrier Reef’s Great Keppel Island. The run caters for a range of participants including those that are more interested in exploring the island, to those looking for a physical challenge. The are a variety of distance options over a variety of terrain that includes up to eight beaches, sandy and rocky trails, sand dunes and rocky outcrops. There are also a couple of hills and ridges that repay your effort with spectacular views. For those wanting to maximise enjoyment of the island, organisers recommend staying overnight, but for those making the day-trip ferry services are available.
