Red Centre Wringer Backyard Ultra

The Red Centre Wringer Backyard Ultra is a last one standing event organised by Alice Springs Running and Walking Club, starting on 1 August 2026. The Backyard Ultra is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run a 6.7km course in less than one hour. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is used to recover and replenish for the next hour's race. The race finishes when one person completes one more lap than anyone else. The Red Centre Wringer will take place at the Telegraph Station Historical Reserve in Alice Springs. The course is really technical, with 70m of elevation, with sand, water crossings and rocks a plenty. This is a self-supported event where you provide all your own food and fluid requirements.
