The half marathon features mostly dirt forestry trails with three sections of single track (2.5 km total) and an ascent of Mt Amungula with 680 metres of elevation gain, offering spectacular views of Canberra. Starting and finishing at Wamboin Community Hall, the route includes 1.3 km of sealed bitumen on Bingley Way before entering Kowen Forest.
