
Heysen Trail Ultra Marathon
The Heysen Trail Ultra Marathon returns from 24 to 25 October 2026 with distance options from 13km to 100 miles on the iconic Heysen Trail, South Australia. The full 115km Ultra traverses a section of the 1200km-long Heysen Trail from Rocky Creek to Victor Harbor. Runners take in some of the best countryside along the Fleurieu Peninsula. Paddocks, country roads, pine forests, beaches the infamous Yultie and Myponga hilly single tracks. Other distance options include; 13km, 28km, 42km, 50km or 70km on Saturday, and 9km, 22km and 50km on Sunday. There are also multi-day options of 50km, 50 miles, 100km or 100 miles, for those wanting to stretch themselves just that little further. All distances finish in Victor Harbor at the Heysen Village along the Esplanade. Competitors experience the best trail running has to offer in the state, taking in rolling farmland, sandy forests, rocky hillsides and lots lots more. The views are spectacular through the magnificent conservation parks, with the backdrop of gum trees, abundant wildlife and wide open spaces making this a truly Australian experience.
