The course features varied running surfaces including dirt in the Main Arena, bitumen of the Peter Watts Criterium cycling track, grass and trail sections of the Wilderness Challenge, and a rocky gully affectionately referred to as Theresa's Gully. A partial round of the Showgrounds Lake completes the lap.
